Whole-grain oats, rolled flat and go through some extra cutting and processing so they can cook easier. Also known as Quick-cooking Oats, these cook in just a few minutes and have a nutty, chewy texture. They are also really great soaked overnight in milk or curd, with fresh fruit for breakfast the next morning.

Oats are high in soluble fibre & healthy fats. They are the only cereal to contain high quality protein equivalent to soy or meat/egg protein and are very rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals such as Avenanthramides, Thiamin, Manganese, Zinc, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Iron.

Sustained consumption of oats is linked to lower total cholesterol levels and their high fibre content allows for slow release of carbohydrates - helps people control their blood glucose levels.
